Miles of Trails

New Forest Cycling, Walking

Woodland Trails is a perfect site for camping, cyclists, walkers and those who enjoy hiking. If you forgot to bring your bike, no problem, as they have a bike hire where you can get all that you need for a wonderful afternoon exploring on two-wheels.

After checking in to your New Forest accommodation take a walk and follow the paths as they take you through rugged moors and woodlands. During the past 100 years, the forest has developed into a safe haven for wildlife. Some of the flowers you may see as you walk through the forest include; bluebells and pink heather, along with many other species. There are many pathways you can choose as the forest is a network of paths and bridleways. It is important to walk on the approved paths to cause the least disturbance to the wildlife.

New Forest Museum

While on your New Forest Holidays, take time to learn more about the Museum. This is a great place to start if you are trying to decide what you want to do first and gain information on how you can enjoy your holiday. You will see pictures and facts on the geology and history of New Forest. There is a book department and DVD section offering fascinating facts surrounding the development of New Forest.

If you have ever tried River Exploration or River Running, now is the time. Come to the New Forest and make some memories. What exactly is River Exploration? This experience takes place on the lower Croe River. For those of you looking for a bit more action try the Gorge Walk. Whichever you choose, you will not be disappointed.

You can choose from a Splash session, Half-day island exploring, or Half-day canoe and climb. The choice is yours and they are waiting for you.

If you are expecting to see the same look of cider as you buy in the store, you are in for a surprise. During October 16th and 17th of 2010, New Forest Cider Farms will be holding a demonstration of making cider with vintage presses.

After you have tasted the wonderful fresh made cider, stay around for the hurdle making, wood turning, and swing boats. This is an experience you don't want to miss.
